Teamwork at Pier 4

August projects feel big.

The days are long. The pace is fast. And sometimes, the work requires more than just a truck and a crew — it requires coordination, trust, and a crane.

This project at Pier 4 in Boston was one of those.

We were reimagining an outdoor gathering space — a kitchen, grill station, seating areas — a place designed for people to come together. The vision for the space was led by Elaine from Bell Interior, who thoughtfully imagined and organized how it would function and feel. Our role was bringing that vision into place.

Deliveries had to be timed. The crane had to be positioned. City logistics had to be managed. Materials lifted carefully over an active environment. Everyone watching each other’s movements.

There’s something about a crane lift that reminds you how much trust exists in construction.

The operator.
The crew guiding the load.
The installers waiting above.
The coordination on the ground.

But what I love most are the photos from days like this.

Clay on site.
Denis working alongside Andrew.
Everyone focused. Everyone steady.

Watching it all come together.

That’s what building really is.

Teamwork.
