Not Just Custom Homes
When you’re married to a custom home builder, you get used to talking about kitchens, trim details, ceiling heights, and window lines.
You don’t expect to be talking about curbs.
But this September, that’s exactly what we were doing.
Instead of ordering pre-cast sections, Andrew decided to cast the curb in place — bending the forms to create the curve right there on site. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t inside a beautifully finished space. It was dirt, plywood, and careful measurements under a bright blue sky.
And yet, I loved it.
There’s something about watching a team solve a problem in real time. Adjusting. Figuring it out. Making it work with what’s in front of them.
Custom homes might be the specialty. But good builders don’t only show up when the details are pretty.
They show up for the practical parts too.
Even the curbs.
